I heard this quote a while ago, and it has stuck with me.
I am not quite sure who said it, but I love it.
(this is an 8x10 printable for you)
When I hear this quote, I think of my sister.
My sister, Jen, has multiple food allergies
yet, her faith in God never wavers.
I am able to watch her do REALLY
hard things, and all in the strength of the Lord.
Does this picture look hard to you?
Taking 8 kids under the age of 7,
and 1 on the way, to
a nice restaurant like Tucanos?
Guess what! It was hard!
It would have been "easier" if just the adults would have gone,
but...
We would have missed out on precious family time-
Our kids wouldn't have learned how to act at a
restaurant at a young age-
We wouldn't have made the waiters smile at the
fact that a 6 year old boy & 7 year old girl
could each eat 13 pieces of shrimp.
In the end, our children were so well behaved.
They learned, we learned, & we
all had an experience we will always remember.
The Lord gives us strength in ALL that we do!
Being a Mom
Being a Friend
Being a Co-Worker
Being a Teacher
Being a Daughter
Being a Sister
and, more than anything-
Being His daughter in all that he needs us to do.

ReplyDeleteThanks so much for such a nice compliment. I really love that quote too. It was Elaine S. Dalton who said it in conference. Here is a link http://www.ldschurchnews.com/articles/60011/Latter-day-Saint-Young-Women-In-the-strength-of-the-Lord--I-can-do-hard-things.html

ReplyDeleteI totally agree that although it is hard to take kids to places to eat, it is sooo important! I have 5 kids under 5 and my friend has 3 5 and under....so together we have 8 kids too but they are all under 5 and her and I manage to do lots of stuff like restaurant and play places etc. Life is soo much better when enjoyed with your kids!
